MBON Data Portal
Open MBON Data Portal

The MBON Data Portal — developed and managed by Axiom Data Science — provides easy access to the full breadth of MBON data holdings. The portal combines a searchable data catalog with a feature-rich mapping interface.

What you can do:

  • Search and download real-time, delayed-mode, and historical data for in situ and remotely-sensed physical, chemical, and biological observations
  • Compare datasets across regions and disciplines
  • Generate and share custom data views
  • Link out to protocols, methods, and best practices for biological observing
  • Access a full suite of tools developed with a broad range of IOOS and MBON partners

The portal aggregates data from regional MBON nodes across the U.S. — including South Florida, the California Current, Gulf of Maine, Mid-Atlantic, and others — making it the primary discovery and access point for the U.S. MBON network. Data holdings include species occurrence records, eDNA detections, seascape products, and satellite-derived indicators.
